Nikon Launches South India’s First Exclusive D-SLR Zone

Nikon India, the 100% subsidiary of the imaging industry leader – Nikon Corporation launched an exclusive Nikon professional D-SLR camera zone for the consumers at Foto Best Pvt. Ltd, 111/1, 112/1, Dickensen Road Bangalore, Karnataka. The store was inaugurated by Mr. Kimito Uemura General Manager Marketing Nikon Hong Kong in presence of Mr. Hidehiko Tanaka Managing Director Nikon India.

As part of its aggressive expansion plans in India, Nikon launches its exclusive D-SLR zone where the entire range of D-SLR cameras, NIKKOR lenses and an elaborate COOLPIX range of compact cameras would be on display. This is the first such zone that Nikon has opened in Southern India in addition to two zones in Mumbai and Delhi. Is the quantum accurist pt any good?

I saw this, the one with the flippin switch that has 5 pt bearings, with the maxcast skeletal spool, and the acs II cast control. I am looking for a reel that can be very versatile, and i have a pretty limited prince range. I would need this reel to handle very different things, from soft plastics to spinnerbaits and jigs, literally everything. can it do that for me, or is it a very specialized reel only for flipping and pitching? i have a very nice abu garcia ambassdeur i use for crankbaiting, but i dont normally take it to the local pond with me where i fish from the shore. So i would use this reel there and also when im fishing off the boat. i literally will need it to handle everything. other reels i have been looking at are the bass pro shops megacast and the megacast tourney special. I can get this accurist pt for for only 50 bucks brand new, and the list price is 130. should i go for it or will this not be what im looking for?

I have a Daiwa US80XA on a Berkley Lightning 5 1/2 foot rod that I use for just about everything from crankbaits , spinners , plastic worms , jigs and a variety of top water lures. Shimano also makes decent reels.

For 700$ you can get a Canon EOS XS, XSi, T1i or Nikon D3000, D3100 or D5000. All are great, all except for D3000 have Live View and T1i, D3100 and D5000 have video recording.

Good luck! Remember, more megapixels don’t make images sharper or have better quality. They matter when you print HUGE, but for viewing pics on monitor, 4mp is enough, so having 10MP+ is great.

What Kids Learn From Fathers

Kids learn important lessons from their dads.

A recent study conducted by Galaxy Research found that three quarters of Australian dads nominated their father as the person from whom they learned their most important life skills.

Shaving, riding bikes, driving and changing tyres are the skills that men attributed to their dads.

At first glance these may not appear too startling but dig a little deeper and you find that they attribute vital lifelong success characteristics to their dads.

High work ethic, honesty, supportiveness and loyalty were all values that men directly attributed to their dads.

The results of the study show that dad is the ‘doing’ guy.

Mothers tend to interact with their kids differently. They are more verbal, more astute at developing interpersonal skills and more likely to reveal what is on their mind.

The language of fatherhood is about activity – dads teach many of their important lessons through activity.

Learning to be a good sport, to share and to work toward a goal are lessons that dads teach their kids in very hands-on ways.

The study also showed that it was through activity that men formed their relationships with their dads.

Playing, tinkering, building and pulling things apart are the modus operandi of many dads.

What Do Dads Teach Girls?

Dads teach girls fundamental lessons about interacting with males.

As my girls were growing up I wanted them to expect to be treated well and respectfully by males (both present and future) as well as having the confidence to be assertive.

That meant that I needed to treat my daughters kindly, while allowing them to speak up to me (in the nicest possible way) when needed.

Numerous studies have linked fathers with the healthy development of girls, including self-esteem and confidence.

Certainly dads should complement their daughters genuinely and persistently in adolescence when body image doubts are very common. But they also need to let their daughters grow away.

This is a challenge as dads tend to be protective of their daughters and hard on their sons.

It’s lucky then that most mums are protective and super-supportive of their boys!

The ying and yang that mothering and fathering provides is a fabulous balance for kids.

Boys Grow Into Their Dads

Little boys want to be like their dads. They attribute superman-like qualities to their fathers. Dads need to make the most of this while they can because their sons become teenagers and try hard to reveal their feet of clay.

The GOOD NEWS is that the Galaxy Survey showed that most men still want to be ‘like their dad.’ That boyhood dream doesn’t diminish in adulthood. That’s lucky as most men become like their fathers, hopefully better versions!

• A better version of a father 2008 style appears to be one who is involved with his kids but also one who can balance and support the parenting style of his partner.
• A better version is one who plays with his kids but also one who disciplines too. He balances softness with firmness.
• A better version is not being a quasi mother or a gender-neutral parent but confident enough to learn from his partner while retaining the maleness of fathering.
• A better version is one who talks openly to his partner and engages in a dialogue about parenting.
• A better version is one who remembers what it was like being a kid and bringing that into parenting as much as possible when you are with them.

And fathers need partners who support them in their parenting efforts, actively share the parenting enterprise, and recognise that DADS DO IT DIFFERENTLY.

Would The Nikkon 50mm 1.8 prime be good for taking prom pictures?(Im anti-flash)?

I was getting ready to buy a used film camera and it hit me that I would need a better lens than the kit lens in order to take pictures of the upcomming prom.
I hear good things about the fast 50mm lens; Cheap and sharp. Would this be a good lens to have in my bag for low light situations? I despise using flash >.<
Also what film speed and type do you recommend?
I was thinking asa400 would get the job done.
And maybe some b/w rolls too.
I'm probably going to be inside mostly.
The prom is supposed to take place in some building at an Air Force base, so going there to test the lighting isn't an option.(maybe)

Yes, that is a great lens. I would recommend higher speed film, at least 1600, and balanced for indoor lighting, if you can find it.

The best suggestion I can give you is use black and white film, Kidak Tri-X Pan, T-max 400, or T-max P3200… any of those can be pushed to 3200 speed. I use 3200 for subway photography without flash and I love the results… try it!

You might have to send the film out to have it developed and make sure whoever you send it to KNOWS to push the film ot 3200. Write it on the envelope with a big bold marker, and on the film magazine (cartridge) itself.
