I am 21 weeks pregnant on Sunday and once in a while when I see things on sale for my baby I purchase them. (bibs, onesies etc.) just because I don’t want to be stuck buying whatever wasn’t purchased at the shower at the same time. I am putting the big things on the registry as well as all other necessities (bottle, blankets etc) But what arent the chances slim that something will happen. I am trying to relax but it is really all I think about!!!! My aunt told me today to put back a 5 pack of carter onesies I saw for $4.99 because what if something happens! Yep I also bought everything in either 3 to 6 months or 6-9 or to 12. I also purchased a wearable blankets and my friend (who will be babys godfather) purchased a bunch of clothing and shoes all various sizes lol. it is so exciting.
I feel the same way as you do and I just turned 26 weeks today. I keep thinking what if my baby is born too early or something goes wrong? I’m just so paranoid and hope for the best for my baby boy! I love him so much already, he means the world to me and I don’t want nothing to happen but it’s all in god’s hands. I just tell myself that everything will be ok and that if something happens it happened for a reason. I try to eat as healthy as possible,excercise(not excessively), and just relax. I have a lot of things for my baby right now, I started buying stuff when I was around 16 weeks because I was just sooo excited. Recommendations on a 14 to 16 foot Jet Boat?
I am considering a 14 to 16 foot Jet Boat like Sea Rays Jet Rayder, Sea Doo, Yamaha, Sugar Sands, Bayliner Jazz and etc. I live on the Gulf Coast but I am looking for ones for sale on Craigs List inland so I can find a freshwater boat built in the 1990′s. I have seen a few that look good priced from anywhere between $1000 and $3500.
I have never owned a jet or been on one.
I would appreciate any pros and cons on any brands that you guys have had experiences with.
Jet boats operate exactly like your typical sea doos, waverunners, etc… They lack “traction” from the start but are very efficient at moving you through the water. They tend to hop and cavitate quite a bit, but if you’re looking for a little water scooter that you can fit a few people in… go for it. If you’re going to run it in the salt water, make sure you’re protected properly against corrosion. BTW… if you find a good boat with engine problems and everything else is in working order and the price is good… it’s not too expensive to get a remanufactured engine. I bought an 800cc yamaha motor from SBT and had it installed for just under $1000. Good luck, they are great fun for a small boat.

Low voltage relay switch (trigger under 2.5volts)?
I am trying to increase the voltage in an RC boat to produce more speed by using a relay to isolate the motor circuit. The voltage that comes from the original circuit is about 2.5 volts. Does a relay exist that can trigger at 2.5 volts or less?
what i’ve actually done is add another circuit into the boat, the weight isn’t too much, and whats happening is i want the 2.5 volt relay so that i can have the switch between the 2 different circuit, because i’m afraid that the receiver for the RC will short out with so much voltage, therefore i’m using the 2.5 from the original to run the RC part, but a relay added in there to switch the circuits and have the 9v battery i have added with the new 9V motors, (there are 2 separate motors for each propellor). The question was just if anyone knew of a 2.5 volts or lesser relay trigger because the lowest one i found was 5V at radio shack, and can’t seem to find any online less than 5Volts…..
The only sensible way to produce more speed is to increase the voltage, i.e use a bigger battery. The only other possibility is to review the motor, which might be running too low a revs/min for a given voltage. Your idea of a relay is a non-starter (it does nothing which the motor controller does not already do). cutekittenkyti’s idea of a transformer is also a non-starter, as transformers only work for AC voltages.
When you say the original circuit voltage is about 2.5 volts, it sounds as if you are using two rechargeable NiCd or NiMH cells. You will get an immediate benefit from adding a 3rd cell. or, if you are familiar with the handling and potential hazards of Li ion cells, from using a single Li ion cell instead (more expensive). Talk to your dealer.

How powerful a wind turbine do I need to recharge my electric boat?
I am building a two-seater, electric catamaran, 21 ft. long, about 8 knots top speed, no sails, just two electric DC engines. I am aiming at a range of about 20 miles before it needs recharging, and my only recharging device will be a wind turbine. I’ve seen they do about 100 – 400 Watts when they are the marine type which usually attaches to sailboats; how long would it take for such a turbine to replenish energy in my boat, would anyone know? I’m hopeless with these things, but I still love doing them.

If you shoot for a very efficient design, it might work OK. I wouldn’t plan on carrying the turbine with me on the boat. If you could leave it somewhere & hook-up to it when you get there, it would be more practical.
8 knots isn’t too fast. 20 miles at 8 knots is about 2 hours transit time. Two 1/2 HP motors would work. Human powered catamarans have gone much faster than 8 knots & one man is about 1/2 HP or 375 Watts.
If the motors and propellers are efficient, then a total of 600 Watts might do it, assuming two passengers.
Let’s say the turbine generates 200 Watts. Then you’d have to recharge for about 6 hours.
I’ve assumed 100% efficiency throughout. The true efficiencies are pretty high with good equipment, but not 100%; so figure 7 or 8 hours of recharging.
