You will need to buy Radio Control outfit on 40mhz band. (Only model aircraft allowed on 35mhz band). If not in UK these bands may differ. You will get transmitter, receiver, often rechargeable batteries/charger and typically 2 servo motors. These plug into the receiver and operate a control – in your case the rudder. To control the electric motor you can use the second servo to throw a switch but its much better to use an electronic speed controller which will give variable speed control and if you buy one for a boat/car will have reverse function too. controlling from the front is really where the issue is if you have it in the trunk. the remote wires simply are not usually that long. however, you may be able to mount it under the seat. the wires from the deck to amps, subs, and speakers can be as long as you need, the remote wire however is usually limited in length, and i have heard lots of poor reviews even on expensive wireless models, they just don’t work well.
But if i may share a link with you to a radio company that may change your mind about not changing the dash. see they build new technology radios that duplicate the 60′s style radios, with custom face plates to match the cars original, just like yours. here is the link.
