Why does the propeller not work?

My little cousin’s Liquid Heat RC boat got problem. The propeller don’t work. He lost the instructions and it’s too late to return. So What happened? I tried replacing the propeller but it still didn’t work. Before I changed it, I tilted the back of the boat upward…it worked for like 5 seconds. Then it stopped again. What is wrong with it? And HOW DO I FIX IT~~ I’m preparing the take the thing apart. so PLEASE HELP~~
