It hurt like a bitch, and it swelled alot.
Incase anyone get’s confused, my question is, what is the aftercare for this piercing, genral healing time, procedure like, etc…

they do numb it or if they dont im sure you can ask them its not bad is more the sound and feel of it going through the gristel that bothered me
Tongue piercing usually take between 10-14 days to fully heal, it is almost impossible to develop an infection because the mouth contains an enzyme “Ptyalin” and Lingual antimicrobial Peptide (LAP) which kills bacteria.
You will experience swelling the first day you get the piercing, but the worst swelling will be from 2-5 days after the piercing, during which time your tongue will be very uncoordinated and you may find it very hard to talk. The only food you will be able to eat during the first 3-5 days are things like mashed potatoes, canned spaghetti mashed up etc. or fruit and milk drinks made in a blender.
If you were not wise enough to take some Ibuprofen before you got your tongue pierced, you might want to do that. It will dull the pain and reduce the swelling.

Step
2
Suck on ice. This also eases discomfort and swelling. Ice will be your best friend the first 4-6 days after you get your tongue pierced.

Step
3
Rinse your mouth with alcohol free mouthwash. This kills germs and reduces your chance of infection. Be wary of what mouthwash you use because if it contains alcohol it will burn and could cause discoloration.

Step
4
Eat smart. Foods that are easy to eat, mashed potatoes, soup, bananas, etc. will not cause discomfort. Try not to eat a lot of dairy products because they introduce bacteria into your mouth and could cause infection.

Step
5
Rinse your mouth with mouthwash after every meal.

Step
6
At night, sleep with your head elevated with pillows. Laying flat will cause swelling.

Step
7
Don’t mess with it. Don’t touch it. Don’t play with it. If you leave it alone it will heal faster. Also refrain from smoking and oral sex until your tongue fully heals.
