I have a question for those who are in touch with (or fear) the occult. Sigils on clothing?
I want to know if there are any beliefs about the signifigance of wearing an black magic sigil on clothing. Heavy Metal tshirts (Venom, Slayer, etc) often bear ‘goat of mendes’ pentagrams, and tshirt companies specializing in horror (or even New Age) often sell shirts with various occult symbols emblazoned across the chest.
What I am interested to know from any point of view–so long as you actually believe in the supernatural–is whether or not there are any beliefs of supernatural signifigance attributed to the wearing of certain occult symbols on a shirt. I can find little on the specific subject. If you are a Christian, tell me what you think. If you are an occultist, please say what you think. Undoubtedly, there will be people who say it’s meaningless as well. That’s just fine. I just want to hear what different folks have to say. Serious as you want…heck, even if you want to write some wild put-on response attributing all sorts of wacky hocus pocus to t-shirts, please do it.
Much of the power of a symbol lies in the beliefs of the wearer or user of the symbol.
