do you know something about Norton Ghost ?
Norton Ghost (Symantec)? It is good or bad. What is its funtion?
Thanks for your answers. Anyway I want to know if i do Back up and then I Restore it many times, is it good or not. Why ? does it give bad affect on my computer?
I have only installed it a week ago.
At priori… it is great. It does a full backup of your hard drive. And you can also have it updating that original backup everyday.
However… if you have a lot of stuff on your drive like I do… I have 17GB of data on my drive C… it really becomes more practical to have a second slave hard drive to store your backup file than trying to store it on CDs or even DVDs.
Besides that… it is all I have done with it.
The general idea is that if something goes wrong with your computer… you can now format your hard drive and retrieve the backup file. You lose nothing. The backup file is an image… in other word… an exact copy. So you don’t have to install anything… and you can be back in business in less than an hour.
In my case… it takes me more than a week to re-install all my programs and redo all their settings. Not counting having to download 100Mb of updates for Windows XP… plus all the updates for my anti-virus.
So it is great for me. Norton Ghost will save me more than a week of work if I get into trouble.
