What kind of Motor should i get on my boat?

I just purchased a 12 foot fibreglass three hull boat mainly for fishing (it includes oars) I don’t have much money but I also need a motor. I am willing to spend 350$ max. I was thinking of a trolling motor with 70lbs of thrust (bass pro shops have cheap ones). Since the boat will be used strictly for fishing, i need a trolling motor anyways. Would this be sufficient for my boat? What else would you suggest. How fast do you think I would be able to travel? Also, how long would a battery last?

For $350 you’re going to have to lower your standards.
I priced trolling motors last week and a 70lb thrust was around $450. Granted, transom mounts are a bit cheaper, but not by much.
Running on 3(half speed) you should be able to get a couple of hours of continuous run time out of a decent battery.

You should have a rating on the boat for horsepower and I’m sure it would handle a 5hp engine. You could probably pull 7mph from that. You’ll have to watch the classified ads, but you can run across a decent small engine in your price range. Just stay away from the old air cooled engines. They are crap.
