Can I use a brushed ESC with a brushless motor?
I bought a boat , the ‘Apache 24 Pro-boat’ and it originally used NIMH batteries, we made only one customisation, we swapped the connection on the boat to Deans Connectors so we cold connect LIPO batteries.
No other mods were made, we ran the boat, it survived one run, but the next run, we reversed the boat out from the bank, and we promptly lost propulsion.
it floated back to us, and at home, we tested the boat, and the motor had obviously been bad quality, and it had literally blown bits of solder off it.
I now want the boat to be able to travel faster, so I am looking around at the brushless motors, and I am wondering if it is possible for us to keep our current speed controller, if you need more information, here is the link to it

it is either rated at 40 or 50 amps, I believe it is suitable for 40 amps continuous, or 50 amps peak.

if you are going to put a brushless motor in the boat you can not use the same speed control. you will need to get one for a brushless motor.
