Will this be covered under my Nikon D40 garuntee?? Please help!!(Read on)?
My camera lense keeps “Un- attaching” itself from the camera itself. it is because the small parts of the inner lense that jut out and fit into the grooves that make the lense stay on, have broken. only 2 out of 3 have and there are other mechanisms to keep it shut, however it regularly comes up with a message saying “Lense not attached.” and i have to try and hold it in place.
1) is there a way of fixing it??
2) how much is a new lense? it is a AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-55mm f/2.5-5.6G ED II lens.
3) reccomend a good lense for nikon d40 cameras please!
4) where do i go to get it serviced if it has broken.
5) WILL IT BE COVERED UNDER GARUNTEE???

1) You should hear a click when the lens is fully mounted to the camera
2) The lens you have (if you have the AF-S 18-55 mm ED) is an excellent lens
3) I would not suggest you buy a second lens until you have an idea of what you want. I could be you will eventually want a wide angle lens like the 12-14 mm (just under $860) or perhaps the 70-300 mm VR lens, around $550 to add to your camera system. Many owners of the D40 have opted for the 55-200 mm VR (under $200) as their second lens.
4) If the camera needs repair, Nikon will give you all that information
5) all manufacturing defects or other problems are covered by the warranty.
