What is the difference between the old and new Nikon 18-200?
Nikon is releasing a new lens, but is there really a difference between this one and the 2005 one? Is there any important difference in lenses that are 10 years old and brand new lenses?
Specific lenses:
AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II (2009 release)
and
AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED (2005 release)
The new Nikon 18-200mm VR II is the same as the old 18-200mm VR, with the addition of a zoom lock at 18mm
