Help with fibreglass – polystyrene moulding?

Timothy O asked:

Hey im amking a rc boat hull out of polystyrene and then moulding with chopped strand fibreglass. i finished one part of the hull ok and then i had to get more resin and i got a diferent brand i applied it and finished the other half but a while later i checked it and the fibreglass had gone hard but seperated from the foam and had almost half eaten the polystyrene away. this probably happened because there was some type of solvent in the resin, in future how could i stop this from happening like is ther some coating you can put on polystyrene before coating?

Yes. Use EPOXY resin, NOT fiberglass resin. There is a big difference. If you do want to use the fiberglass resin because you have already purchased it, coat the mold with 30 minute epoxy resin first.
