No,.. do not use silicon as it is not for gaskets; its used in the electronics industry for computer memory chips… very brittle.
Go down to your local NAPA, or Oreilley (autozone sux) and ask for a sheet of gasket material. Use an exacto knife and custom make the gaskets you need.
Are these gaskets not available as a set? I got no idea from your description what it is you’re working on, but perhaps try the manufacturer or search ebay? Where do you get parts for it? Does the parts house have any gaskets?
if you change to a gasket with a thicker body, it will effect the compression and on a 2 cycle diesel, that will effect the way that it runs.
