Excalibur 2900 Food Dehydrator – Two Reasons to Own One

Parallexx Air Flow System: A dehydrator is a simple piece of kitchen equipment, a box with a heater and a fan. Now beyond that there is a big difference in the technology in today’s food dehydrators. When drying food there are two ways to dry. Vertical and horizontal, the less effective units will employ the vertical methodology. These are typically a round unit with the heater and fan on the bottom and air forced up to the top through a center hole in the trays. This method will require the extra labor in turning and rotating of the trays to achieve a quality end result. It will work, but at added involvement to get the job done. With the heating unit in the back out of the way of the trays and the food, there is no chance of dripping from the trays getting into the electrical system. The trays are completely removable and dishwasher safe. The door is removable for complete cleaning. Sanitizing the drier is a simple task. The trays are made of FDA approved materials, a polycarbonate.
