Best Buy to Citi credit card balance transfer?
Can I transfer the balance from a relative’s Best Buy credit card (APR 20.99%) to a new Citi credit card (APR 0% for 6 mo. on purchases and balance transfers) without having to take a cash advance on the Citi credit card?
A balance transfer is essentially a cash advance. Citi needs some incentive to allow you to use their money for free for six months and the balance transfer fee is it.
Keep in mind also that if your balance is not paid off in full in six months you could get charged all of the interest that would have accrued during that six month grace period.
