It takes 5 hours to charge the battery but only runs for 15 minutes which is perfect for a parent. The boat does leak a small amount of water inside so make sure you open it up and dry it out and then leave it uncovered after you use it to prevent corrosion to the electronics. It looks cool in the water and rides well. For the price, I am very happy. These days kids tire of toys so quickly, you don't want to spend too much on something like this which I consider an expensive toy. Also it is built well but would be easy to break if you aren't careful. Treat it with care, it's an rc model boat, not a toy you can abuse. Jake
